US stock futures declined on Thursday, with the tech sector leading the drop as market participants evaluated recent earnings reports from Tesla Inc. and Meta Platforms Inc.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures contract fell 0.2%, while the S&P 500 futures dropped 0.9%. Nasdaq-100 futures also declined by 0.9%, a move driven by a reversal in semiconductor stocks that had gained ground during the previous trading session.

Investors focused on Meta Platforms, which released quarterly results after the close on Wednesday. The company announced a 2-for-1 stock split that grants Class A shareholders one non-voting Class C share. Following the announcement, Meta shares rose in premarket trading.

In contrast, Tesla shares fell despite reporting an earnings beat. The decline occurred as investors assessed the company's capital expenditure plans, which show lower spending for 2026 but higher outlays in 2027 and 2028 for Optimus, Cybercab, and Terafab projects.

Elsewhere in the technology space, Anthropic could file its S-1 registration as soon as Friday, according to people familiar with the AI developer's plans. Such a filing would pave the way for what could be the largest initial public offering in history.

Energy markets also saw movement following a deadly attack at a Saudi Arabian oil field. Brent crude touched $110 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate crude neared $100.
