Super Micro Computer raised its fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue guidance to a range of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion, a significant jump from the previous midpoint of $15 billion, driven by sustained demand for AI infrastructure. The company, which provides AI-optimized servers and storage systems, released the updated preliminary guidance the night before its stock surged 9.55% to close at $35.57 on Tuesday.
The revision implies a 25% improvement over the prior forecast's midpoint. Beyond top-line growth, Super Micro also increased its gross profit margin expectations to as high as 12.5%, up from the previous guidance of up to 10.8%. The company is scheduled to report its full earnings on November 3, but the preliminary figures were sufficient to drive heavy trading activity. Volume reached 80.2 million shares, approximately 76% above the three-month average of 45.5 million shares.
The move in Super Micro stock was part of a broader rally in AI hardware makers. The S&P 500 rose 0.59% to 7,758, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed 1.05% to 26,703. Peers in the computer hardware and data center infrastructure sector also gained ground as buying broadened across the sector. Dell Technologies closed at $486.04, up 5.30%, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise finished at $58.18, up 3.73%.
Super Micro Computer went public in 2007 and has grown 3,958% since its initial public offering. The updated guidance reinforces the view among investors that growth in AI infrastructure remains robust, supporting continued interest in companies building the necessary hardware.
