LQR House Inc. (NASDAQ:YHC) has replaced founder Sean Dollinger with Leo Chen as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. The leadership change accompanies a strategic pivot away from the company's original wine and spirits e-commerce business toward a cross-border securities trading model centered on its New Zealand-based subsidiary, Fusion Five Continents Securities.

The transition marks a distinct shift in operational focus for the Miami Beach, Florida-based firm. Under Dollinger's tenure, LQR House operated primarily as a spirits e-commerce and marketing company. With the appointment of Chen, the company is reorienting itself to function as a financial intermediary, providing clients with access to U.S. and Hong Kong equity markets. This new direction is supported by a technology agreement with ByteDance, which underpins the company's plans for AI-driven research and quantitative analytics.

In connection with the departure, LQR House is transferring its online spirits business to a company owned by Kumar Abhishek, the outgoing Chief Financial Officer. Dollinger, who led LQR House from its inception through its August 2023 initial public offering on NASDAQ, stated that the board charted a new direction that requires a CEO with specific operational experience aligned with the new strategy. He indicated that he will continue to work on the spirits e-commerce venture outside of public capital markets while supporting the transition.

Leo Chen brings over a decade of executive management experience in large enterprises and diversified conglomerates to the role. His background includes serving as Chairman of Shenzhen Jincheng Confidentiality Technology Co., Ltd. and General Manager of the Finance Department at Beijing Energy International Holdings Co., Ltd. He holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Sydney and a bachelor’s in Business Management with a concentration in Financial Management. As CEO, Chen will oversee day-to-day operations and the execution of the company's strategy.

Lijun Chen, Non-Executive Chairman and Director of LQR House, noted that Leo Chen’s finance background is well-suited for developing Fusion Five Continents Securities into an AI-enabled brokerage platform. The subsidiary aims to integrate financial research, portfolio analytics, and investment execution. A key differentiator for Fusion Five is its ability to take digital currency deposits for trading, with a licensed trust entity handling the final settlement process in line with regulatory rules.

The company reports that Fusion Five has assembled a technology team with credentials from Oxford, Stockholm University, and Tsinghua University. This team combines expertise in quantitative finance, AI, and behavioral data science to deploy AI-driven capabilities across operations. The stated goal is to enhance efficiency and the client experience while advancing the vision of an integrated brokerage platform.
