Wrestling stars Cody Rhodes and Trick Williams will provide live commentary for the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys matchup on Sunday, marking the first time WWE talent participates in The Chat. The initiative, developed by WhatsApp and OffBall in 2025, aims to connect sports fans with prominent figures in their respective fields. According to a news release obtained by OutKick Dropkick, the collaboration begins with Week 6 of the NFL season, featuring specific wrestlers assigned to each team. Williams, who currently holds the U.S. Championship in professional wrestling, will represent the Cowboys alongside Rhodes. Morgan is assigned to support the Packers, while The Miz will contribute additional commentary to the broadcast. Williams described the partnership as a shared passion for bringing fans together, noting that both WWE and the NFL unite audiences globally. He expressed excitement about sharing his interest in football through the platform. The wrestler's background includes a history in American football; he was a high school standout and played college football at Hampton University. He later attempted to join the University of South Carolina as a walk-on before graduating and trying out for the Philadelphia Eagles during minicamp. Williams previously told OutKick Dropkick that his time in college football taught him how to persevere and build mental strength. The Chat is scheduled to return for another matchup on November 1, featuring the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders. Nikki and Brie Bella will support the Eagles, while LA Knight will root for the Commanders. Previous iterations of The Chat have included participation from LeBron James, Deion Sanders, Daniel Ricciardo, and Kylie Kelce. WhatsApp reports that more than 3 billion people use the platform worldwide.
