Suburban Propane Partners, L.P. (NYSE:SPH) declared an increase in its quarterly distribution to common unitholders, raising the payout from $0.325 to $0.35 per unit for the three-month period ended September 26, 2026. The move lifts the annualized distribution rate to $1.40 per common unit, a 7.7% increase over the previous annualized rate, as stated by President and Chief Executive Officer Michael A. Stivala. The Board of Supervisors made the announcement on October 22, 2026, from the company's headquarters in Whippany, New Jersey.

The distribution is scheduled to be paid on November 10, 2026, to common unitholders of record as of November 3, 2026. In a prepared statement accompanying the release, Stivala attributed the rate hike to the partnership's strengthened financial position and its confidence in the long-term outlook for the business. He noted that capital spending for renewable natural gas facilities in Columbus, Ohio, and Upstate New York is largely complete, contributing to an improving leverage profile and positive momentum across both propane operations and the renewable energy platform.

According to Stivala, these factors provide the partnership with greater flexibility to return additional capital to unitholders while preserving capital for strategic growth opportunities. The company identified its renewable energy investments as a key component of this financial flexibility, specifically citing the completion of major capex projects in its renewable natural gas segment.

The press release also serves as a qualified notice to brokers and nominees under Treasury Regulation Section 1.1446-4(b). It specifies that 100% of Suburban Propane Partners, L.P.'s distributions to foreign investors are attributable to income effectively connected with a United States trade or business. Consequently, all such distributions are subject to federal income tax withholding at the highest applicable effective tax rate without exception. Brokers and nominees acting as withholding agents are responsible for withholding distributions received on behalf of foreign investors. The release further clarifies that under the specific provision of Treasury Regulation Section 1.1446(f)-4(c)(2)(iii), the entire distribution amount exceeds the partnership's cumulative net income.
