The 2025 Asus ROG Flow Z13 is now $2,099.99 at Best Buy for the configuration carrying AMD's Ryzen AI Max Plus 395 "Strix Halo" chipset, 64GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. That is $900 off the original $2,999.99. Almost every other gaming laptop has gone up in price over the past year, which makes this move worth examining on its own terms. The price cut and the hesitation come from the same source: the Flow Z13 runs on integrated graphics rather than a discrete GPU.
The case for the 64GB configuration starts with the gap to the Amazon alternative. The 32GB model sells there for $1,999.99, which puts the Best Buy unit at $100 more for double the memory. That spread is narrow enough to make the higher-RAM version the harder one to ignore on specs-per-dollar. Reviewer Antonio found the Strix Halo APU delivering 50 to 60 frames per second on average across graphically demanding games at low to medium settings. Elden Ring runs at around 50 frames per second at high settings at the tablet's native 1600p resolution, and titles with FSR 3 and frame generation support can go higher. The review places graphics performance on par with RTX 4060 laptops. Beyond the frame counts, the chipset holds up in battery life and general tasks, which matters in a 13.4-inch form factor built to travel. The original Flow Z13 arrived in 2022 as a tablet that looked like a Surface but could actually run games; the 2025 model is where that promise makes contact with the performance numbers.
The counterargument is the ceiling. Against bulkier 16-inch machines like the Razer Blade 16 or Asus's own Zephyrus G16, the Flow Z13 falls short in GPU-focused tasks. Anyone expecting 100-plus frames per second at 1600p across a full library will find the integrated architecture a firm constraint, not a tradeoff.
On balance, the read-through here is portability economics. The Steam Deck OLED approaches $1,000, and the Flow Z13 at $2,099.99 delivers meaningfully more capability in a 13.4-inch tablet body with a stand. At $900 below its original price, the Best Buy listing is the value inflection the line has been building toward since 2022.
