Acadia Realty Trust adds Tamara Fischer to board and governance committee

Acadia Realty Trust (NYSE: AKR) named Tamara Fischer to its Board of Trustees and the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, effective October 19, 2026. The move brings a veteran financial executive with three decades of real estate investment trust (REIT) experience to the board of the equity REIT, which focuses on street and open-air retail properties.

Ms. Fischer’s most recent role was Executive Chairperson of National Storage Affiliates Trust (NSA), a position she held from April 2023 until the company was acquired by Public Storage in July 2026. At NSA, she previously served as Chief Executive Officer from January 2020 to March 2023, President from July 2018 to June 2022, and Chief Financial Officer from 2013 to December 2019. Before joining NSA, Ms. Fischer worked as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Vintage Wine Trust, Inc., a triple net lease REIT, from 2004 to 2008. She also held the same title at Chateau Communities, Inc., a manufactured home community REIT, for a decade beginning in 1993.

Currently, Ms. Fischer serves as an independent director for Mid-America Apartment Communities, Inc. (NYSE: MAA) and JLL Income Property Trust, Inc., appointments that began in 2023. At Mid-America Apartment Communities, she sits on the Audit Committee and Real Estate Investment Committee, while at JLL Income Property Trust, she chairs the Audit Committee. Her prior board service includes roles at NSA from 2020 until its acquisition and at Duke Realty Corporation (NYSE: DRE) from 2020 to 2022.

Ms. Fischer’s industry involvement includes service on the Nareit Advisory Board of Governors from January 2025 to July 2026 and on the Nareit Executive Board from 2021 to 2024. She also served as Past Chairperson of the Board of the Self Storage Association from 2020 to 2024. She is an inactive certified public accountant and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.

Lee S. Wielansky, Lead Trustee of the Board, stated that Ms. Fischer brings deep financial and executive leadership experience in the REIT industry and a sophisticated understanding of the sector. He noted that her perspective and insight would be a valuable addition to the board as the company continues to execute on its strategy with discipline and a focus on long-term value creation.
