U.S. GoldMining draws congressional attention to Whistler as drilling assays remain pending

(NASDAQ: USGO) has completed 11 diamond core drill holes for over 5,000 meters across eight targets at its Whistler Gold-Copper Project in Alaska, and on August 24 brought four members of Congress to the site.

Initial assay results from that campaign remain pending.

The case for USGO rests on a preliminary economic assessment published March 2, 2026, which modeled an after-tax net present value of $2.0 billion at a 5% discount rate, a 33% internal rate of return, and an estimated initial payback of 2.1 years at base case prices.

That PEA drew only from indicated mineral resources at the main Whistler deposit.
