What complicates it is the distance between a presidential characterization and a concrete deliverable. This readout supplies the adjective. The case for taking the framing seriously is that tone matters at this level.
A summit where the lead participant emerges calling talks positive is, at minimum, not one where talks collapsed. Reduced diplomatic friction has its own read-through.
If the alternative was open disagreement, "productive and positive" registers as a real signal rather than a routine one. The counterargument is that this is standard post-summit language.
