Ripple's Mint launch sharpens the case against XRP

The institutional case for $XRP has always rested on banks needing it.

Ripple's July 23 launch of Ripple Mint, a platform that lets banks and trading firms create and redeem RLUSD, its dollar-backed stablecoin pegged at $1 per token, makes that need look less obvious.

One analyst now calls $0.60 by late 2027. What Ripple Mint actually does Ripple Mint is plumbing, designed to give institutional users a direct entry and exit point for RLUSD.

In its announcement, Ripple said the platform would bring "value and activity back to XRPL infrastructure" and described XRP as a "complementary" asset to RLUSD. That word is worth sitting with.
