Micron Technology (NASDAQ: MU) enters September with fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter results due on the 30th, and the month sets up as a contest between improving fundamentals and a seasonal pattern that has worked against the stock more years than not.
At Friday's close of $932.86, shares are still well below the 52-week high of $1,255, recovering from a summer chip sell-off that briefly took MU under $740 in late July.
The read-through on September history is complicated. From 2017 through 2025, Micron has averaged a 4.1% September gain.
That average is doing almost no descriptive work: the 40% return in September 2025 is the single observation that pulls the mean positive.
