Arkansas State Parks reports an average of one to two diamonds registered per day at the Pike County, Arkansas site, with 351 logged in 2026 as of August 29. The catch: most of those stones are brown or white.
Yellow diamonds rank as the rarest variety the park produces, formed when nitrogen absorbed into the crystal structure during formation creates impurities that absorb blue light and reflect yellow wavelengths.
